Vent: our club almost split over a 12 page novella until we started picking the book out loud
Back in March our club in Boise spent 45 minutes fighting about a book half of us never even finished, and it happened again the next time. What finally worked was simple: we read the first few pages out loud at the end of each meeting and vote right there instead of emailing a list around all week. Sounds dumb but turnout went from 6 people to 11 and nobody rage quits anymore. Has another club tried this or do you all still suffer through the group chat vote?
