A big craft fair in Austin changed my mind about machine stitching
I used to hand stitch every single binding, thought machine work was cheating. Then I watched a binder at the Austin show finish 40 journals in one weekend with a sewing machine. My hands cramped up after just 6 books at my table. That event made me realize speed matters when you sell in person. I still hand stitch for fine bindings, but for basic notebooks, I use a machine now. Has anyone else shifted their methods after watching someone work at a fair?
