I used to hate using a sanding block for book edges, but a guy at a bindery in Portland showed me how it stops the paper from curling.

I always thought hand sanding was fine, but after one test on a thick text block the difference was huge no more wavy edges. Has anyone else noticed better results with a block over just paper?
