PSA: the night shift janitor at my office in Cleveland changed how I feel about my boring data entry job
I used to zone out and just count the hours until 5pm at my desk job, honestly I thought my work meant nothing. Then last month Ray, the guy who empties the bins, stopped by my desk around 9pm and mentioned he'd noticed I reorganized the whole file room alphabetically over 3 days. He mentioned it made his night route 20 minutes shorter because he could find the labels faster. That was it, no big speech, but it made me realize my dull job actually helps someone else's shift suck a little less. Has anyone else had a coworker point out a small thing you did that you figured no one even saw?
