I skipped the Friday standup at my job in Dayton for 11 weeks, and it turned out nobody needed me there
Everyone says showing up to every meeting is how you get ahead, but I got my biggest project approved in a 6 minute hallway chat with my director instead. What's the longest you've gone ducking a recurring meeting before someone noticed?

Nobody notices because those meetings are mostly theater anyway. The work gets done in hallways, in DMs, in quick chats where you can actually say what you mean without ten people nodding along. I ducked a weekly sync for like two months last year and the only sign anything changed was that my name stayed on the invite. That tells you the meeting was never about the work. It was about somebody's need to see faces on a screen. So your 11 weeks is honestly rookie numbers if we're being real.
