My mechanic in Tucson quoted me $2,800 to reseal the valve cover and replace the PCV system, which he said would slow the burning but not fix it. The other option was dumping that cash into a $4,500 Camry with its own unknown problems. I went with the repair because every cheap car I looked at had a seller story I did not believe. Two months in and it is down to a quart every 1,500 miles, so it worked, but I keep wondering if I just kicked the real problem down the road. Has anyone else here picked the repair over the replacement and regretted it?
