Showerthought: everyone treats 'the problem' like one big fight, then wonders why they keep losing
Been watching folks in here describe their stuck problems like they're one giant boss, and that's why they lose. I split my own mess into 5 small fights back in March and knocked out 3 of them in a week just by naming each one out loud. The real move is figuring out which piece you keep dodging, since that's usually the actual boss. What's the one small piece of your problem you keep skipping over?
But what if the "one big boss" thing actually works for some people? I split my taxes into five small pieces last year and spent three weeks on dumb stuff like finding receipts, when I could've just sat down for one long awful afternoon and been done. Sometimes breaking it up just gives you more places to hide. And how do you even know which piece you're dodging is the real boss, and not just the one you hate the most? Plenty of people avoid the easy stuff too, just because it's boring. Maybe the whole "chunk it down" advice is backwards for anyone who needs the pressure of one giant deadline to move at all.
