Appreciation post: my old boss taught me what NOT to do at 7am meetings

I worked for a manager in Denver who scheduled a 7am every Monday and then showed up 20 minutes late, coffee in hand, and spent the first 10 minutes complaining about his commute. After he left, I realized I was copying his habit of starting every catch-up with gripes instead of actual work. Now I run my own team of 5 and I force myself to open with the agenda and the good news first, even if it's small. Has anyone else picked up a bad habit from a terrible boss and had to actively break it?
