I was dead set on quitting, then HR read the room differently

My supervisor in Phoenix kept piling on weekend shifts after I asked twice for a set schedule. I had my resignation letter drafted and was honestly one bad email away from sending it. Then HR pulled me aside and showed me his write-up history, turns out three people before me filed complaints about the same thing. I chose to stay and file a formal grievance instead, and they moved me to a different team within 2 weeks. Has anyone else had HR actually help instead of just protecting the manager?
