Just realized my manager at the Tacoma call center put me on a 'growth plan' 8 weeks ago and never wrote a single goal down
Last Thursday I asked HR for the written plan they keep citing in our check-ins and they admitted there isn't one, so has anyone actually gotten out of a paperless pip or did you just start job hunting right away?
My sister went through the exact same thing at a call center in Kent last year, 10 weeks of "we'll get the goals in writing soon" and it never happened. She finally emailed HR asking for the plan and got a meeting invite instead, where they acted like she was being hard to work with for asking. Here's the thing, a growth plan with no written goals is not a real plan, it's just a paper trail they're building to fire you later, except they forgot to build the paper part. My sister kept her own notes after every check in, dates, what was said, who said it, and when they finally let her go she had enough to get a decent severance out of them. Word of warning, this kind of thing usually does not end with you getting "out" of it, it ends with you leaving one way or another. Start job hunting now and keep those notes at the same time, because you can do both.
