Question about my old boss at the tire shop in Boise who docked my pay for clocking in 2 minutes late one time
Worked at a tire shop off Fairview in Boise back in 2019 and my manager docked me 15 minutes of pay for clocking in at 7:02 instead of 7:00, even though I stayed late every single day that week. Here's the debate I keep going back and forth on: should I have reported him to the labor board right then, or was it smarter to just eat it and keep the job since I needed the money? Some folks say you always document and report, other folks say you pick your battles and a few bucks isn't worth the target on your back. I ended up quitting 4 months later over something dumber and I still wonder if I handled it wrong. What would you have done, report the 15 minutes or let it slide?
