Spent 9 days fighting HR over a $340 paycheck error my manager caused

My old manager put my hours in wrong twice and HR kept bouncing me between 3 different people who all said it wasn't their job. It took 9 days and 14 emails to get the $340, and the whole time my manager acted like I was the one making a fuss. Has anyone actually gotten their company to fix a pay error without going through this runaround?
