The 'just document everything' advice that backfired on me in HR
My old supervisor in Phoenix always said to write down every issue and keep a paper trail. So I did, religiously, for about 8 months. When I finally brought my binder of notes to HR about my manager skipping my lunch breaks, they said it looked like I was building a case against the company. I got put on a performance plan within a week. Anyone else have solid advice that turned into a target on your back?

They saw receipts, not a trail. That binder was your resignation in slow motion.
