Vent: My old boss lost it over a $3 thank-you card
I mean, this was back in February at a retail job in Portland, and my manager was already on edge all week. One customer left a thank-you note with a $3 coffee gift card, and I put it in the drawer like we were told for the team. Next morning, she pulled me into the office and said, "You think you're too good to share the good stuff with the rest of us?" Turns out she wanted it for her own desk stash, and she wrote me up for "hiding team morale items." Honestly, the card was worth like a small latte, but the fact she made it a whole HR thing over nothing still bugs me. Has anyone else had a boss blow up over the tiniest dumb gesture like that?
