Warning: my old manager's 'quick sync' meetings were a paper trail trap, and the calendar invite saved me
Honestly I almost missed this one. My old boss at a remodel company in Boise started calling 15 minute 'quick syncs' every morning, but he never put anything in writing, just verbal orders that changed by noon. I started replying to every meeting invite with a short recap email of what he asked for and cc'ing myself, and 6 weeks later when he tried to write me up for a missed deadline, I had 11 emails showing he kept moving the goalposts. He backed off the same day, and HR admitted they had no case. If your manager refuses to put stuff in writing, has anyone else tried the recap email thing, or did it blow up in your face?
