That one week my backyard nursery got wiped out by a freak frost in May
I had 200 seedlings ready for sale on that Saturday, but a cold snap hit the Kansas City area on Monday night and killed half of them overnight. Even with tarps and a space heater running, the temperature dropped to 28 degrees and my tomatoes and peppers just couldn't handle it. Has anyone else dealt with a sudden late frost ruining a whole batch of plants?

Hold on, I've got to disagree with you here. Freak frosts are part of the gamble when you're a backyard nursery, not an excuse to blame the weather. If you had 200 seedlings that important, you should have had a better backup plan than just tarps and a single space heater. A cold frame or a simple hoop house with a real thermostat would have saved those plants, even at 28 degrees. Honestly, it sounds like you took a shortcut and got caught, not that Mother Nature was out to get you.

Throw a cheap thermostat on that heater next time, game changer for the money.
