Warning: I keep seeing people call their pothos plants 'low light' and then wonder why they stop growing.

My friend in Phoenix said her pothos was 'fine' in a dark corner for 6 months, but it hadn't put out a single new leaf. I told her to move it just 3 feet to a north window, and she got 4 new leaves in a month. They survive low light, but they really need some indirect sun to actually thrive. Has anyone else had a plant totally stalled until you gave it a bit more light?

That bit about surviving versus thriving is everywhere. People do the bare minimum at work and wonder why they never get promoted. It's the same energy, just keeping the lights on instead of actually growing.

My plant book calls them "light tolerant" not "light loving," which makes SO much sense now.
