My $18 porch light fixture put up a fight for three hours
Bought one of those cheap motion sensor lights from the hardware store off the clearance shelf, you know the kind, box was already beat up. Got it home last Saturday and the mounting plate didn't line up with the old holes in my stucco, so I had to drill new ones which kicked up dust everywhere. Then the wire nuts wouldn't grip because the previous owner had left like an inch of stripped wire in the box, all frayed and stiff. I finally got it wired and the sensor pointed at the sidewalk instead of the driveway, so anyone walking by triggers it every five minutes. My neighbor yelled over the fence, "Quit messing with it, just use duct tape," which obviously didn't help. Has anyone else fought a simple swap that should have taken 20 minutes, or is it just me and my cursed house? What did you end up doing different on the second try?
