That customer who called me at 6 AM about brake squeal still sticks with me

I had this guy call me a few months back right at dawn, said his truck brakes were making this high-pitched noise every morning. He was real insistent I come out to his place over in Forks before I even had my coffee. When I got there, turned out it was just moisture on the rotors from sitting overnight, not even a pad issue. I showed him how the rust layer forms on the rotor surface and that first stop or two always scrapes it off. He didn't believe me at first, kept saying I was trying to dodge the job. I had to drive his truck around the block and let him hear it go away before he finally calmed down. Has anybody else had to deal with customers who think every noise means their pads are totally shot?

Forks, Washington! Man I had to stop and read that twice, that's way out in the middle of nowhere. Driving all the way out there before coffee for a moisture noise would have had me questioning my whole career choice that morning. I can't believe he actually made you go around the block to prove it, like you were just making up rotor rust for fun or something. People really think we enjoy driving across the county at dawn to mess with them.

Right? Like we're out here just building mysteries for fun before sunrise.
