Just realized my car insurance was quietly charging me $72 extra every 6 months for nothing
I was going through my bank statements last night and saw a line for "roadside assistance" on my auto policy that I never signed up for. Called my agent this morning and she said it got tacked on when I switched plans in 2022 and I've been paying $12 a month for it since. That's $72 every 6 months, or roughly $260 down the drain for a service I've never used once. I asked why nobody flagged it when I called to lower my rate back in the spring, and she just said it was "part of the bundle." Anyone else find junk add-ons like this buried in their insurance? How do you check for this stuff without spending your whole weekend on the phone?
