Bricked my phone trying to replace a charging port, but the old one still worked

Tried swapping the charge port on my Pixel 6a last Tuesday and got the flex cable pinched, now it won't boot past the logo at all. Turns out the original port was just dirty, I scrubbed it with a toothpick and it would have been fine, but I had already ordered the part. Has anyone recovered a phone from a bad flex cable install without a full motherboard swap?
