Just realized the 'never reseat a CPU' advice is wrong for bent pins
Everyone on here says a bent CPU pin means a dead chip, so when my Ryzen 5 landed on the carpet in February with two pins folded flat, I almost tossed it in the trash. Instead I spent 40 minutes with a sewing needle and a 10x loupe under my kitchen lamp in Des Moines, gently nudging both pins back until they lined up in the socket holes. The chip posted fine on the first try and has run every day since. Maybe I got lucky, but I think people give up on bent pins way too fast. Has anyone else straightened pins with a needle or is that just asking for a snapped one?
