The $5 part that was hiding in my laptop's fan all along

Found out my overheating issue for the last 4 months wasn't the thermal paste or the heatsink, it was a tiny dust clog in the fan bearing that a $5 can of compressed air from a local shop in Austin fixed in 30 seconds, has anyone else chased a pricier fix before checking the dumb simple stuff?
