Vent: I used to hate screen replacement guides until I saw the torn flex cable stat
I was about to give up on fixing my own phone screen last night... figured it was too risky and I'd just pay someone else to do it. Then I stumbled on a post in this forum that said 1 in 3 broken screens have a hidden torn flex cable that repair shops charge extra for. That stat surprised me because I always thought it was just shattered glass. The person who wrote it broke down how they found their cable damage with a magnifying glass and a multimeter. I grabbed my old phone and checked, sure enough there was a tiny rip near the hinge. Now I'm convinced to try the repair myself since I know what to look for. Has anyone else caught a tear that you almost missed?

That 1 in 3 stat is legit, check the flex cable with a multimeter before you even touch the glass.

Is that really a 1 in 3 chance or just people being dramatic?
