Serious question, anyone else get burned picking fiber over cable for a small office?
When I moved my roofing office into a bigger space in Dayton last year I had to choose between the local cable company's 500 Mbps plan at $89 a month and a fiber line at $150, and I went with cable to save the money. Six months in, upload speeds tank every afternoon when my crew sends job photos and invoices from the field, and I've had two full days of outages during estimate season. I finally called the fiber provider back and the install is set for next month, but I'm out the setup cost I paid the first time plus a new $200 install fee. If you run a small shop, was fiber worth the extra monthly for you, or did you find a cheaper way to fix bad upload speeds?
