Warning: our upload speed dropped to 1 Mbps after a router swap, check your modem lights
We swapped out our old router at the shop in Boise on a Tuesday and by Thursday morning our backups were crawling at 1 Mbps upload instead of the 20 we pay for. Turns out the new box was auto-negotiating a bad link on the ancient cable run the installer left in the ceiling, and once we plugged straight into the wall it jumped right back. Anyone else get burned by a swap that looked fine on paper but tanked the actual speeds?
