My neighbor watched me wrestle my brake caliper for 30 minutes and told me I had the pads in backwards
I was doing front brakes on my truck in the driveway last Saturday and could not get the caliper to slide back over the rotor no matter what I tried. My neighbor Rick walked over, looked at it for about 10 seconds, and said "you got the pads facing the wrong way, the wear tab goes toward the piston." Turns out I had flipped them, and he was right, they dropped in easy once I switched them around. Now I lay the old pads on the ground in the same spot the new ones go so I can eyeball them against each other before I install anything. How do you all keep track of which pad goes where when you pull them off?
