Bought my buddy a $12 knife set from a big box store as a housewarming gift a few years back. Two months later he's over at my place helping me cook and grabs my good chef knife to chop an onion. He just stops and stares at it, then looks at me like I lied to him his whole life. Went out that same week and dropped $80 on a single knife and now he won't shut up about it. Cheap knives feel fine until you use one that actually holds an edge, then you can't unfeel it.
