Crawl space in Albuquerque taught me to check for critters first
Had a job last Tuesday where I dropped into a crawl space to run coax for a new build, and about 4 feet in I hit a nest of pack rats, chewed through my existing lines and everything. The homeowner never mentioned the smell or the droppings, so now I always do a quick flashlight sweep and knock on the floor joists before I shimmy in. Plus I carry a cheap headlamp with a red light now, it doesn't spook the animals as much. Anyone else got a close call that made you change your entry routine?
