That one week in '08 when every drop was a crawl space nightmare
I remember a week in late 2008, right before the digital switch, where every single job was a retrofit in a house with a nasty crawl space. I did five houses in a row where I spent at least two hours on my back in the dirt, running RG6 through joists. The worst was a place in Gresham where the homeowner had 'cleared a path' that was still only about 18 inches high. What made it stand out was the sheer consistency of the bad luck, and how we were all just racing to get folks set for the new signal. Anyone else have a stretch of jobs that were all the same special kind of awful?

Gresham crawl spaces are rough, I'll give you that. But come on, it was just cable. Try doing a full termite treatment in a space like that with a tank and a spray rig. You had one bad week, but that's just part of the job sometimes, right?

You're right, it was just cable, but man that week had a vibe. It felt like the whole world was under a house and in a panic. We were all just grimy little animals trying to beat a clock.
