Argue with me: Should we pressure test every lens we repair, or trust the bench marks?

I stopped in at a shop in Portland last week and watched a guy skip a pressure test on a 35mm prime because he said the marks were close enough, and I'm wondering if we're all just one bad seal away from a flood of returns, so which side are you on?
