Appreciation post: my $6 patch kit saved a trip to the Smokies after my pad blew a baffle
Two nights into a trip near Gatlinburg last month, my sleeping pad started hissing under my hip and went totally flat by 2am. I dug out the patch kit I'd bought at a hardware store in Knoxville on the way in, and it came with a tiny tube of glue and three round patches. Took me about 15 minutes in the dark with a headlamp to find the pinhole along a seam and stick one on. It held the next two nights without a leak, and I'm still using that same pad at home. What do you all keep in your repair kit for blowouts like that? I want to add a backup before my next trip.
