A buddy told me my junkyard suspension setup was dangerous and he was right
I bolted some old springs from a 2002 Accord onto my 1995 Miata to lower it for $40. A guy named Mike at the local shop said the springs didn't match the strut travel and I'd lose control in a hard turn. I swapped to a set of used coilovers off a Facebook swap meet for $150 and the car handles way better now. Has anyone else learned a hard lesson from ignoring advice about mismatched parts?

I read a thread on a Miata forum where a guy put civic springs on his car and ended up in a ditch after the rear end got loose on a freeway off ramp. The spring rates were way different so the car would oversteer or understeer at random times. Really makes you think about how those cheap quick fixes can bite you when you're not expecting it.
