That junkyard MAF sensor advice from a forum post just cost me a tow

Last month a guy on here swore a used MAF from a salvage yard would fix my rough idle for $30, so I drove 40 miles to Pick-n-Pull in Tulsa and grabbed one off a 2005 Sonata. It ran worse within a day, then threw a code that melted my O2 sensor fuse, and I ended up paying $120 for a tow after it stalled on the highway. Anyone else get burned by cheap sensor swaps that worked for someone else's exact car?
