Took me 11 days to get the lien release so I could sell my truck

I paid off my truck loan in March and the bank swore the title would come in 5 to 7 business days, so I lined up a buyer at $6,200 and waited. Turned out the credit union never filed the lien release with the state, and I had to call 4 times and drive to the branch in Mesa twice before anyone would even look at it. Has anyone else had to hound their lender like this, and is there a faster way to force them to file the paperwork?
