Honestly, people are way too scared to ask for a raise after a year

Tbh, I keep seeing coworkers in my office in Dallas just quietly hope for more money instead of asking. I got a 15% bump last month because I wrote down every project I finished and the extra tasks I took on. My manager actually said 'I was waiting for you to bring this up.' Ngl, if you just do your job and stay quiet, they will assume you're fine with your pay. How many of you have actually asked for a raise in the last 12 months?

So you're telling me my raise money is just sitting there waiting to be claimed like a forgotten gift card? Guess I better speak up before my coworker buys a new monitor with my cash.

What gets me is that a lot of managers have a set budget for raises they can give out. If you don't ask, that money just goes to someone else who did.
