My old foreman in Tulsa said never trust a laser level on a cloudy day, and I owe him a coffee
Back in 2019 I was framing a garage addition in Tulsa and my foreman Ray kept telling me to double check the laser level with a string line whenever it was overcast. I brushed it off as old guy superstition until a footing pour came out 3/4 inch off on the far corner. Turns out the cheap laser I was using drifted when the light got flat, and the string line caught what it missed. Now I run both no matter what the sky looks like. Anybody else had a tool act up in weird weather, or was Ray just messing with the new guy?
