Why does everyone hate on sanding? I think we're doing it wrong
I spent last week on a job in Nashville refinishing some old oak floors, and everyone else on the crew was complaining nonstop about the sanding phase. But honestly, I think the problem is most guys buy cheap paper and push too hard. I switched to a 120 grit mesh from a local supplier at $18 a sheet, and it lasted three times longer than the big box store stuff. I got through 400 square feet without switching once, and the finish came out glass smooth. Has anyone else tried mesh over regular paper, or am I the only one who doesn't dread this part?

Eh, $18 a sheet sounds like a lot to save one headache.
