A guy at the Saturday meet in Sacramento told me my exhaust note was 'trying too hard,' and it's been stuck in my head for 2 weeks
I was at the Cars and Coffee off Folsom Blvd a couple Saturdays back, parked next to this older guy with a bone stock E30 that looked like it just rolled off the lot. He walked around my car once, didn't say much, then leaned in and said my exhaust was 'trying too hard for a car that still has stock wheels.' I laughed it off at the time but honestly he had a point, I've been chasing sound instead of actually dialing in the car. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I should just leave the exhaust alone and put that money into tires instead. Has anyone else had a stranger at a meet say one thing that completely flipped how they think about their build?
