Brought donuts to the Saturday meet and accidentally started a turf war between two coffee shops

So I roll up to the Cars and Coffee at the lot off Riverside Drive around 7am with two dozen donuts from the shop two blocks down, just being friendly you know. About 20 minutes later a guy from the OTHER coffee place across the street shows up with his own box and starts handing them out and telling people mine came from the place that "burns their beans." I laughed it off but then like six people actually started debating it in the parking lot, one dude pulled up the Google reviews on his phone and everything. Turns out the burned bean place has a 4.7 and the other one has a 4.2, so my donuts won on paper but the vibes got weird for a bit. What I learned is that free food at a car meet is a loaded gun, because everyone has an opinion and nobody is shy about it at 7am. Next time I'm just bringing a thermos and keeping my mouth shut. Anybody else had a meet get hijacked by something dumb like this or is it just my lot?
