The spot I keep going back to is the one with bad coffee, and here is why that matters
Been to maybe 8 different cars and coffee meets around town over the past couple months and I keep noticing the same thing. The meets with the best cars always have the worst coffee. There is a place off Route 9 that serves gas station level drip in a styrofoam cup, no flavor syrups, nothing. But 3 weekends in a row there was a guy there with a real Ford GT, not a kit car, an actual one. Meanwhile the fancy spot with the $6 lattes and the nice patio has nothing but base model Mustangs with exhaust tips.
I think it makes sense if you think about it. Guys with serious cars are not there for the coffee. They are there to talk about the car. The coffee is just an excuse to stand in a parking lot for two hours. The fancy places attract people who want to be seen at cars and coffee, not people who actually built something.
So now I judge a meet by how bad the coffee is. Sounds backwards but the worse the coffee, the better the cars. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just making up a pattern from nothing?
