Tried the 6am meet at the old Twin Peaks lot in Phoenix... wow

I used to hit the Saturday morning meet at the old Twin Peaks lot back in 2019, you know, the one with the cracked asphalt and the guy selling burnt coffee from a thermos. Went back last weekend after hearing it got revived, figured it'd be the same crowd. Showed up at 6am sharp, and it was all these new guys with wrapped Supras and drone cameras, no one even popping hoods. I popped mine, an old 240SX, and a kid asked if it was electric swapped. I laughed, he was dead serious. Learned the vibe shifted hard, it's more about content than cars now. I'm not mad, just confused. Anyone else go back to an old spot and feel like a fossil? What's the closest meet to that old-school hangout feel still left around here?

Last year I rolled up to the old Pavilions spot in Scottsdale for the first time in ages, same deal, three rows of guys filming each other's exhaust tips and nobody had a wrench in hand. My buddy still brings his rusted-out Civic with the hood held up by a stick, and these kids just walk past it like it's a fire hydrant. The closest thing to that old hangout feel I've found is a tiny Tuesday night thing behind a Fry's grocery store on Cave Creek Road, maybe 15 cars max, mostly 90s junkers and a couple of rat rods. It's not fancy, coffee comes from a gas station, but people actually talk about timing belts and wiring gremlins instead of camera angles. Your mileage may vary, but that's been my saving grace.
