That $90 coolant flush kit that turned into a radiator swap
On my 2012 Ford Focus, I followed the YouTube video step by step, but the cheap plastic petcock on the radiator snapped off after I torqued it maybe 5 ft-lbs, so I had to drain the system, buy a new $140 radiator from O'Reilly in Tulsa, and pay my buddy $60 for a tow, has anyone else had those factory drain plugs just disintegrate?

Those plastic drain plugs are total junk. My 2011 Focus did the same thing, barely touched it and the whole thing crumbled into pieces. Ford saved like twelve cents using that plastic crap and we eat the cost. A $90 flush turning into a $290 job is just how it goes with these cars. Next time hit it with some PB Blaster and let it sit first, that helped me get the second one out without snapping it.
