Saw a 1998 Corolla with 312k miles sell for $2,800 at a lot in Bakersfield and I'm still thinking about it
Stopped at a little buy here pay here lot off Chester Ave last Saturday just to kill time while my coffee cooled. The owner had a Corolla on the front row with 312,000 miles and a folder of receipts thicker than my forearm, and a guy paid $2,800 cash for it before I finished my cup. Are these old high mile Toyotas really worth that much now, or did that guy just get excited?
Used to roll my eyes at people paying real money for cars with 300k on them, figured anything past 200k was a ticking clock. Then my buddy's 2001 Camry hit 380k and he sold it in two days for $3,500, only thing wrong was the AC. Turns out a thick stack of repair receipts and a Toyota badge beat low miles any day.
