Just realized I blew $340 on a "cash envelope system" course that was just a guy telling me to use envelopes
Bought it back in March from some guy on YouTube who showed his fancy leather envelope wallet and said he retired at 38. Cost me $340. Spent a whole weekend watching 14 videos. Then it hit me on video 9, he was literally just explaining how to put money in envelopes and label them. That's it. Divide your cash by category, write the category on the envelope. I could have figured that out for free with a Sharpie and some old bank envelopes from my junk drawer.
Worst part is I already had cash only figured out. I've been pulling my grocery money out every Friday for a while now. I just wanted the wallet he had and got talked into the course. Bought a $12 pack of plain envelopes at Walmart instead and honestly it works the same.
So what's the dumbest money thing you paid for that you could have just done yourself?
