Showerthought: my best week with cash was the one where I couldn't spend it
Two weeks ago my car died on a Tuesday and the shop in Reno wanted $1,100 I did not have in my wallet. Since I only use cash, I had to wait 4 days for my paycheck and just walked everywhere, which meant no impulse buys at the gas station or drive thru. By Friday I had $190 left over, more than any normal week, and it was weirdly calming. Does anyone else notice they save more when they physically can't get to an ATM?
