Vent: the grocery cashier told me my $38 haul was "not real cooking" and I'm still mad about it
So I'm at the Food 4 Less on Tuesday with my cart: rice, dried beans, a bag of onions, eggs, frozen spinach, and a $1.25 loaf of bread. Total came to $38 and change, which feeds me for like 9 days. The cashier looks at my stuff and goes "you know, real cooking takes real ingredients" like she's doing me a favor. I just stood there holding my beans trying to figure out if she thought I was buying decorations. I make a giant pot of beans and rice with sauteed onions every Sunday and it's honestly better than half the $15 plates I used to buy. Does anyone else get weird comments like this when they buy basic stuff in bulk?
