I called BS on the $12 squeeze bottles at Restaurant Depot, then my line cook timed me
For two years I told everyone those cheap clear squeeze bottles were the same as the dollar store ones, just marked up. Last Tuesday during a rush my saute cook Marcus said watch this, he grabbed one off the shelf and did 40 plates of sauce dots in under 90 seconds without a single drip or clog. My old bottles would have spit all over the plate by plate 15 and I would have been wiping rims the whole service. I still think $12 is steep but the cap design is not the same thing at all. Anyone else find a cheap kitchen item that turned out to actually be worth the markup?
