I always thought recycling was the main thing, but a chart in a library book changed that
I was reading a book called 'The Carbon Code' from my local library in Tacoma last week. There was a chart showing that cutting food waste has a bigger impact on emissions than recycling for most households. It said if a family of four cuts their food waste in half, it's like taking a car off the road for 6 months. I had no idea the numbers were that clear. Has anyone else seen good tips for actually making that happen without it being a huge chore?

Wait, a family of four can have that big of an impact? That's wild.

Yeah, it adds up fast when you think about it. I see it with trash day on my street, just mountains of bins for a few houses. Then you multiply that by every neighborhood, and it's a lot of stuff going somewhere. Makes you realize how all the small choices, like what we buy or throw out, actually matter.
