The $300 solar phone charger that became a paperweight
Bought a portable solar panel setup last summer for a camping trip in Joshua Tree, thought I'd be off-grid and eco-savvy. It took 7 hours to get my phone from 10% to 45%, and the whole thing fell apart after 3 uses. Anyone else get burned by those folding panels, or did I just grab the wrong brand?

Man, my buddy dropped like $250 on one of those fancy folding ones for a backpacking trip and the USB port straight up melted on day two. He ended up taping a regular power bank to the panel just to feel like he got some use out of it. Pretty sure it's still sitting in his garage collecting dust.
